Creating Routes
Routes are the foundation of your club’s ride library. This guide covers all methods for creating and managing routes.
Creating Routes
Section titled “Creating Routes”Method 1: Draw on Map
Section titled “Method 1: Draw on Map”Create routes interactively:
- Go to Dashboard → Routes
- Click “Create Route”
- Click points on the map to define waypoints
- The route auto-snaps to roads/trails
- Click “Save”
Method 2: Import GPX
Section titled “Method 2: Import GPX”Upload existing GPS files:
- Go to Dashboard → Routes
- Click “Import GPX”
- Drag and drop or select your file
- Review the imported track
- Add name and description
- Click “Save”
Route Editor Features
Section titled “Route Editor Features”Interactive Map
Section titled “Interactive Map”- Pan and zoom — Navigate the map
- Map styles — Switch between road, satellite, terrain
- Waypoints — Add, move, or delete points
Automatic Calculations
Section titled “Automatic Calculations”The system calculates:
- Distance — Total route length
- Elevation gain — Cumulative climbing
- Difficulty score — Based on distance and elevation
Elevation Profile
Section titled “Elevation Profile”View an interactive chart showing:
- Altitude along the route
- Gradient indicators
- Click to highlight on map
Route Properties

Managing Routes
Section titled “Managing Routes”Editing Routes
Section titled “Editing Routes”- Open the route
- Click “Edit”
- Modify the track or properties
- Save changes
Exporting GPX
Section titled “Exporting GPX”Download for GPS devices:
- Open the route
- Click “Download GPX”
- Transfer to your device
Sharing Routes
Section titled “Sharing Routes”Generate a shareable link:
- Open the route
- Click “Share”
- Copy the link
Best Practices
Section titled “Best Practices”- Name routes descriptively — Include key landmarks
- Add notes — Mention road conditions, water stops
- Set accurate difficulty — Help members choose appropriately
- Keep routes updated — Note construction or closures
